Magnetic Resonance Therapy, or MBST, uses low-power magnetic resonance signals to stimulate the regeneration of damaged cartilage and bone cells.
Axel Muntermann, managing director of the German company who developed the treatment, said: "With an aging population, and the associated rise in degenerative conditions such as arthritis and osteoporosis, it is an ideal time to introduce our unique and modern therapy to the UK market."
He added that the treatment is pain free and has no side effects. In many cases there is an immediate reduction in pain and the suffering often doesn't return following the initial treatment.
Treatment involves repeated one-hour sessions, the number of which varies depending on the severity of the condition.
Although the treatment has been used in Germany for over a decade, initially it will only be available through six physiotherapists in the UK.
