Travel insurance is vital for business or holiday travel to the USA.
According to insurer Bupa, the cost of medical cover is so high in some countries that taking a trip without adequate travel insurance would be foolhardy in the extreme.
Natasha Heasman of Bupa Travel Services warns that people requiring medical treatment in the US could be slapped with bills in excess of £40,000, ignoring the significant repatriation costs that would also be required, “The important thing is getting you home and that is where travel cover comes into play.”
