Award for cosmetic surgery association Baaps

The British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (Baaps) has received an accolade at the Aesthetic Medicine Awards in London for its contribution to the cosmetic surgery industry.

Baaps received the award for 'Association Initiative of the Year' at the ceremony, which was held at the Royal Garden Hotel in Kensington earlier this month.

The award recognised the association's work in highlighting examples of irresponsible cosmetic surgery advertising and the contribution of a number of other key players to the industry was also acknowledged.

Nigel Mercer, consultant plastic surgeon and president of Baaps, said that the association was "delighted" with the award.

"At the Baaps we have always worked hard to educate the public on the issues surrounding aesthetic procedures and it was a privilege to receive recognition from our peers," he said.

Baaps was established to advance education in, and the practice of, cosmetic surgery.

People who are considering undergoing cosmetic surgery can visit the website or contact the association for advice and information on procedures.
