Unum has removed the HIV/AIDS exclusion from its range of individual income protection products.
The disability insurer now has no standard exclusions on its cover.
Linton Penman, head of retail marketing at Unum, says: "Unum may not be alone in dispensing with standard exclusions. But thanks to our innovative new underwriting approach, Unum is the only company to do this, while not imposing set limits for automatically requesting any form of additional evidence."
