Consumers who are seeking private dental treatment
should bear in mind that the costs of treatment can vary, experts have said.
A growing number of people have sought private dental treatment in recent months due to the chronic shortage of NHS availability, and many have even considered treatment abroad.
According to a British Dental Health Foundation spokesman, it is important to shop around when looking for a dentist in order to find a good deal.
Chief executive Dr Nigel Carter commented: "Many treatments will be available for much less than people might expect.
"Certainly the rates for treatment can vary from one dentist to another and it can be worth getting a second quote."
Dr Carter also urged consumers to look at the various payment options available to help people spread the costs of dental treatment.
"These include dental plans, health cash plans, dental insurance and capitation plans," he added.
