Dedicated nurse service for cancer patients

AXA PPP healthcare has launched a dedicated nurse service - providing personalised support and medical guidance by qualified nurses, free of charge, for all of its UK medical insurance customers diagnosed with cancer.

The dedicated nurse helpline is for individuals diagnosed with cancer. The service offers:

  • A constant point of contact throughout their treatment and recovery
  • Tailored knowledge, information and guidance to individuals on their condition and its treatment
  • An opportunity to speak with an experienced qualified nurse
  • Emotional support to the individual and their family

Viv Murray, a nurse, explains: ‘When patients first get in touch with us, we do our best to reassure them that we will be there to support them throughout their treatment and recovery. We try to emphasise the small but important things that they can do to feel more in control of their situation. We try to paint a picture of their treatment to ensure that they know what is going on and why.”
