Cosmetic surgery procedures have been booked by a large number of people in the run up to Christmas, it has been revealed.
Recent figures from the Harley Medical
Group showed a 35 per cent upswing in the number of appointments booked in the four weeks before Christmas.
The most popular cosmetic surgery procedures for this period are breast enlargement, nose reshaping and liposuction.
According to the research, the possibility of an extended holiday to ensure a full recovery is one of the reasons why people are booking appointments at this time.
Furthermore, some patients consider their cosmetic surgery as "an early Christmas present to themselves," Harley reported.
Lisa Littlehales, a clinic manager at the group, commented: "Many of our patients say their confidence and self-esteem is much higher post-surgery and means they can start the New Year with a fresh new image."
She added that timing is also influenced by funding, with some people putting their Christmas bonuses or cash gifts towards the treatment.
