Cosmetic dentistry treatment 'to knock years off'

smile

A new cosmetic dentistry treatment claims to be able to take years off a person's age.

Dentists in the US developed the procedure, which costs around £6,000 in the UK.

The cosmetic dentistry treatment involves the placement of porcelain veneers to make a subtle change to the shape of the face and make the smile appear wider.

Dr Mervyn Druian, from the London Centre for Cosmetic Dentistry, told the Daily Mail that the teeth have a "major role" to play in the framework of the face.

He added: "Veneers can be used to lift the whole face.

"For example, by placing veneers on the back molars, I can widen the upper arch of the face, which plumps out the cheeks giving them a more heightened appearance."

Dr Druian claims to have received a large number of requests for the treatment already, many coming from men as well as women.
