A leading cosmetic surgery provider has reported an increase in demand for neck lift procedures.
The Harley Medical Group reported a 17 per cent rise in the operations in 2009 when compared to the same operations in 2008.
Liz Dale, director of the Harley Medical Group, said that demand for surgery particularly increased during the winter months when patients were more inclined to spend the necessary time at home resting.
Ms Dale said: "In these two weeks over Christmas women are literally killing the turkey neck, recovering and then re-appearing rejuvenated and fresh faced, ready to see in the New Year."
Brenda Scott, a 63 year-old face and neck lift patient, explained that she opted for the surgery after being bothered "for years" by the loose skin.
She said: "I always felt young for my age but where I could help disguise the lines on my face with good make-up, my neck was more exposed."
