Bupa is improving its group income protection policy following customer feedback. It will provide appropriate early intervention and return-to-work support on all group income protection schemes with no increase to premiums.
Dedicated claims assessors and nurses will be allocated to each case to enable it to target return-to-work interventions and guidance according to individual needs and where it really matters. Employees do not need to complete lengthy claim forms. Instead, a trained nurse will call or visit employees at home to gather claim details and provide full support from an early stage of absence.
Steve Payne comments, "Our customers tell us that when an employee cannot work due to long-term sickness, they want appropriate and early intervention and return-to-work solutions. Having a nurse involved at the start creates a triple win. It means that the employee has support from the very start of the claim from a dedicated team of medical professionals, helps reduce workplace absence and reduced claims cost and premiums which benefits the employer and ensures accurate information is passed to us quickly so that the claim can be processed speedily and efficiently."
