Liposuction has become increasingly popular and is now one of the
cosmetic surgery procedures that consumers are most likely to opt for, an expert has claimed.
Felicity Quigley, a spokeswoman for Looking Good BuyAssociation, said that cosmetic surgery is becoming more socially acceptable and lots of people are now admitting to having it.
"Liposuction's come a long way in the last four or five years," she claimed.
"You've got Smart Lipo now; you've got varying treatments. It's refined itself to the point now where 'a', it's more socially acceptable, and 'b', it's more effective.
"Liposuction and botox I think primarily are the two things people opt for."
Ms Quigley also noted that although liposuction is still dominated by women, it is becoming more popular among men and other procedures, such as male breast enlargement, are now commonplace.
"It is … more socially acceptable for men to have surgery, although I don't know how many of them would admit to it," she added.
