According to research cited by Lemondrop UK, divorced older women are using procedures such as Liposuction to make them feel better about themselves following a separation.
Liz Dale, director of the Harley Medical Group, commented in the Daily Express: "Post-divorce patients see it as a confidence boost - especially if they're looking for a new relationship."
The cosmetic surgery expert also claimed that the number of women choosing anti-ageing products has risen compared to this time last year.
However, Douglas McGeorge, president of the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, has encouraged women to think things through first.
"Surgery can help to rebuild troubled lives, but women who have divorced should wait until their life is in a state of equilibrium before considering it not rush straight into it," said Mr McGeorge.
