Some people who experience headaches may benefit from cosmetic dentistry it has been claimed.
According to Dr Ashish Parmar, a partner at the Perfect Smile Studios & Academy in the south-east of England, a cosmetic dentist can sometimes hold the key to pain relief if a patient is suffering from poor dental occlusion.
Dental occlusion is the way in which your teeth meet when you bite, and a classic symptom of problems is headaches.
Patients visiting the Perfect Smile Studios can now benefit from a technique called 'Bite Right', which uses a Doppler ultrasound machine to analyse the jaw and detect problems with the bite.
The patient can then be offered suitable treatment and may find that this relieves their painful symptoms.
Dr Parmar revealed: "One of the major problems with incorrect occlusion is that the majority of people who suffer from it don't know they are experiencing problems as a result of an incorrect bite, so it just continues to worsen.
"However, a 'Bite Right' examination by the Perfect Smile Studios can detect the symptoms of poor occlusion and effectively implement changes to correct the problem."
The Perfect Smile Studios provides a range of services, including dentures, implants, sedation therapy and laser dentistry.
