Bupa Great Yorkshire Run to be biggest yet

More than 6000 runners have already signed-up to take part in this year’s Bupa Great Yorkshire Run, with many more set to join them. The 2009 event, which runs through the streets of Sheffield on September 6, is set to be the biggest 10k Bupa Great Yorkshire Run in the city since it was launched two years ago.

Organisers have seen entry levels increase year on year with 4500 participating in the inaugural race in 2007 and 6000 for 2008. This year is set to grow even more with the event enjoying an increase in both the number of people from Sheffield, as well as those outside of the city region, signing-up to take part.
