Breast enlargement surgery has proven to be the most popular form of cosmetic surgery for the 20th year in a row, a leading private healthcare group has said.
According to the Harley Medical Group, which has been one of the most highly-regarded cosmetic surgery groups in the UK for a quarter of a century, breast augmentation is the fastest growing sector of cosmetic surgery.
British women spent around £100 million on breast surgery last year, figures show, and the Harley Medical Group expects the figure to rise still further this year.
The majority of women, who pay around £4,000 for breast implants, choose to increase the size of their cleavage by two cup sizes and, while the surgery may previously have been something to keep under wraps, it seems that women are now happy to tell people about their enhanced assets.
The group's figures also reveal that over 65 per cent of breast enlargement patients are between the ages of 25 and 35, with the majority seeking to improve their breasts after having children.
