Aviva extends travel insurance offering

With more than a quarter of insured holidaymakers affected by at least one major travel disruption in 2010, Aviva is offering travel disruption cover - an optional add-on to its existing travel policy.

The new add-on will cover customers in the event of strike, industrial action, cancellation due to FCO warnings, pandemics, natural disasters, including earthquakes and tsunamis, preventing departure from the UK; and also similar cover for abandonment of a holiday if there is a need to return home early due to any of these events.

The introduction of on-line medical screening means the majority of customers can search for and select the name of their pre-existing medical conditions and fully medically screen for themselves during a single transaction.

You can now process and print their documents at the end of the session enabling you to transact the entire quote and buy process on-line.

In addition, the upper age limits have also been increased from 69 to 74 for annual multi-trip policies and to 79 for single trip policies.

Jerry Finch of Aviva says, “Travel insurance is vital to cover the essentials like emergency medical expenses and cancellations as a result of health issues.”
