Hundreds of transplant athletes descended on Belfast for the 2011 Westfield Health British Transplant Games.
The annual event, hosted by the charity Transplant Sport UK aims to raise awareness of organ donation and encourage members of the public to add their names to the NHS organ donor register. The athletes, all of whom have received a life-saving transplant, competed in a variety of sporting events throughout the weekend, including running, volleyball, lawn bowls and swimming.
Paul Shires of Westfield Health says, "The British Transplant Games is a fantastic event that really showcases the benefits of organ donation."
