A support centre at one of the country’s leading cancer hospitals is to expand its counselling facilities thanks to a donation from Westfield Health.
Weston Park Cancer Information and Support Centre has received £29,900 from the Sheffield based not-for-profit health insurance provider. The donation will allow the support centre to create additional spaces for counselling and therapy services for cancer patients, their families, carers and friends, from the Sheffield hospitals and across the region. The centre provides information and guidance on issues including how to cope with stress and anxiety following a cancer diagnosis, how to care for someone with cancer and understanding grief. More than 600 people walk through the doors of the centre every month.
