An unexpected increase in the number of annual multi trip policies sold by over 50s expert Staysure.The proportion of annual travel insurance policies has risen across most age groups. The rise is most notable in the 50-70-age range travelling to Europe, indicating that seniors are travelling shorter distances and taking advantage of cheap holiday deals.
Stewart Rioch of Staysure says, “The figures demonstrate the senior sector plans to continue to take several holidays a year. Many have sufficient disposable income and regard travel as fundamental to their lifestyle. It is a resilient sector and as such we have continued to see strong growth in 2011.”
