The Ebenezer Orphanage in Victoria Falls, Zambia, provides food and accommodation for at least 350 local street children. The orphanage was founded by Ranji Chara, a Sunday school teacher who could no longer bear to see the conditions that many of the street children were living in, and who set up the orphanage to provide food, shelter and a family' for children who have nothing. Following the success of the orphanage, she went on to build a school for the children in the orphanage, which has given many of them the education they would never have had otherwise.
Bupa International has raised over £5,000 for the Zambian orphanage. The money will be used to pay for equipment and tools for the orphanage's new farm, which provides food for the children. Alistair How of Bupa International says, "The work of the Ebenezer Orphanage is extraordinary and we hope that this donation will enable her to continue to help these children, so they go on to live happy and successful lives."
