NHS - fewer dentists and fewer patients

Nearly 50,000 fewer people are receiving dental treatment on the NHS a year after reforms were introduced, according to official figures.
 
The Department of Health says 28.1m people went to an NHS dentist in England in the year to March 2007 – almost 50,000 fewer than the previous 12 months.
 
The number of NHS dentists fell from 21,111 to 21,038.
