Promising young student athletes from the University of
Sheffield have been presented with scholarships to support their sporting
ambitions.
31 students were awarded the scholarship for their sporting
potential and their commitment to succeed in both academia and athletics.
Westfield Health was the first local business to provide financial backing for
the scheme.
Sheffield athlete Jessica Ennis launched the scheme in 2010.
It provides financial and non-financial support to talented student athletes at
the university.
Paul Shires of Westfield says, “This is a perfect example of health,
education and business working together towards a common goal.”
