Friends Life brings together the UK operations of Friends Provident and the life assurance businesses acquired from Bupa and AXA. Friends Life is the new name for the company with 5 million customers.
Trevor Matthews of Friends Life says, "We have created a new force for the life insurance industry that retains the best from a heritage that goes back over 200 years and at the same time provides a new model provider of choice for the future. The business will offer a range of financial products and services that focus on helping people achieve greater long-term financial security for themselves and their families."
