Cosmetic surgery 'becoming mainstream'

Cosmetic Surgery Turkey

Certain cosmetic procedures are becoming increasingly popular in the UK due to increased availability, it has been claimed.

Paul Collins, editor of Looking Good BuyAssociation magazine, said that "ordinary people" in the country are now looking to enhance their appearance with such surgery.

He added that many employees contacted cosmetic clinics when the credit crunch began gaining momentum as they felt changing their looks would reduce their chances of being made redundant.

"It is not hugely surprising that people now think some minor cosmetic procedures will enhance their career prospects," Mr Collins explained.

"In many cases the effects would be both on the individual's appearance and their self-confidence as a result of improved self-image."

A recent survey by the Good Surgeon Guide discovered that more than half of Britons would prefer to lose weight by having a surgical procedure than through eating less and exercising more.
