Plans have been submitted for a new
private hospital in Tunbridge Wells, reports reveal.
The £50 million hospital would be built at Lamberts Wood, Knights Park, by private healthcare provider Circle.
Described as a "centre for clinical excellence", the hospital would boast four operating theatres and be staffed by around 150 medical professionals, Kent Online reports.
The hospital would be built next to the new £225 million Pembury Hospital and the borough council is expected to come to a decision by June 26th.
Circle's application has been made by Healthcare Properties whose head of design, Rory Coonan, told Kent Online: "It will be a green development with a bus shuttle service to take people to the hospital."
Meanwhile, the Pembury Hospital will be a new NHS hospital, equipped with 512 beds in single en-suite rooms and replacing the existing Pembury Hospital and the Kent & Sussex Hospital.
