Health insurer WPA has launched a private medical insurance plan that uses savings vehicles such as ISAs to help customers pay for the excess.
Health-e-ISA, uses WPA's existing high excess policies - 1XS (for families) and XSHealth (for individuals) - with a £1,500 excess option.
Customers can create the savings vehicle of their choice, such as an ISA, which can be used to pay for the excess.
WPA says the plan reflects its co-payment health savings focus where customers can work in partnership with it.
WPA claims that XSHealth and 1XS have premiums that are up to 80% cheaper than traditional medical insurance and that the savings vehicle will add another level of efficiency.
