6 Staff from Groupama Healthcare in Letchworth are getting ready for a tandem sky-dive on 29th April to raise money for Dogs for the Disabled. The charity is close to the heart of Michelle Lamptey, a Team Leader at the company whose brother Jake Gear, 16, suffers from Friedrich’s Ataxia, a rare disorder that affects the nervous system, and is confined to a wheelchair. Jake’s life has been transformed by ‘Nudge’ his 2 year old specially-trained dog who helps him carry out day-to-day tasks.
Helen Parnell, Kirsty Brown, Chris Church, Stephen Flint, Geraldine O’Neill and Carl Read work with Michelle and have all agreed to do a sponsored sky-dive on 29th April at Old Buckingham Airfield, Attleborough, Norfolk. Groupama Healthcare is making a donation towards the initiative and other staff at the office in Broadway, Letchworth will be sponsoring the sky-dive as well as organising other fundraising events. Money raised will be used to train dogs like ‘Nudge’ to support disabled people.
