Friends Provident celebrate 175 years

Friends Provident has launched a new history and future section on its website www.friendsprovident.com/175, celebrating the company's 175 year history of progressive thinking and its values as an innovative financial services institution.

Far more interesting than the history is Into the Future, which presents research into what the future may hold, including:

• Elderpreneurs: kick-start business later in life using released equity from homes or savings

• Bridge careerists: still working into their 60s with no plans to retire or give up their upscale lifestyle

The insurer sponsors of the England and Wales Cricket Board trophy - now known as the Friends Provident Trophy - the premier domestic cricket cup competition.

There will be a 175 party at the V& A museum in June. The insurer was founded on Quaker principles to alleviate the hardship of families facing misfortune.
