Critical illness products updated

AXA sunlife logo
AXA have updated their Critical Illness Cover in the AXA Protection Account in light of the ABI's new definitions, and taken the opportunity to revamp the whole offering.
Cover now includes Total Mastectomy Cover for carcinoma in-situ of the breast.
It now covers 32 critical illnesses, including two new covers:
  • Traumatic Head Injury, mainly caused by road traffic accidents and leaves a claimant with permanent measurable neurological damage
  • Severe Lung Disease, where a chronic lung disease is diagnosed.
To take account of continuing growth in house prices and the trend for taking out longer mortgages they have:
  • Increased the maximum Guaranteed CI Cover limit from £500,000 to £1 million
  • Lengthened the maximum Guaranteed CI term to 40 years.
The insurer has also removed the standard exclusion for alcohol and drug abuse.
