Cosmetic surgery is "booming" and the prospect of the summer months on the horizon is likely to contribute to the trend, industry insiders have claimed.
According to Shami Choudhry of cosmetic surgery group Transform, business is "extremely buoyant" and showing few signs of abating.
"We think it is due to a number of contributing factors, including a very healthy and stable economy and a very robust celebrity, health and beauty media; people just wanting to look and feel their best and aspiring to a certain type of lifestyle," she explained.
Anti-aging procedures are proving extremely popular, with both surgical and non-surgical treatments high on consumers' wishlists.
"Non-surgical treatments include things such as botox, dermal fillers, lip enhancements, wrinkle and line smoothing treatments and that is extremely popular at the moment," Ms Choudhry revealed, adding that both men and women have been encouraged to have botox by programmes such as Ten Years Younger.
"Especially with summer on its way, everyone's thinking about the beach and what they're going to wear and wanting to look and feel their best and, ultimately, a lot of them will come to us for help," she concluded.
