Adventurous older holidaymakers taking more risks

People are growing old dangerously on holiday with activities including rock climbing and bungee jumping, waterskiing and parasailing, scuba diving and caving, windsurfing and surfing.

But the survey by Gnu Insurance says that as many as 13% would consider going away without any travel insurance, with nearly a third of these saying they would be happy to take the risk.

Paul Thilo of Gnu Insurance says, "Our research shows that an increasing amount of older travellers are throwing caution to the wind while on holiday and taking part in activities that they would never even think of at home. Shockingly, a large number are even choosing not to take out insurance as they are happy to take the risks involved."
