Actress is happier than ever after having a gastric band

Famous for her role as the hard talking and tough mannered Mimi in channel 4’s drama Shameless, Tina Malone, 47, is happier than ever after having a gastric band fitted by The Hospital Group.

The bubbly actress, who recently got married to younger husband Paul Chase, was a size 26 at her largest but has since slimmed down to a 14 after years of trying to lose weight and lead a healthier lifestyle.

In an interview with Bella Tina said: “I’ve tried every diet going over the years and they’ve failed every single time.

“I’ve struggled with my weight for 25 years. I’ve been dieting ever since my daughter was three years old and I was in my early 20s.”

She added: “I had to put my hand up and say: ‘I need help’, and the only thing that’s worked for me is having the gastric band fitted. It’s the best thing I’ve ever done in my life.”

Tina hopes to lose a further three stone by January so that she can achieve the size 10 figure she has always wanted.

Patients who want to lose weight can be assured they will receive a top class service with The Hospital Group.

The Hospital Group is the UK’s biggest provider of weight loss surgery, including gastric bands, gastric bypasses and gastric balloons which can give you a healthier lifestyle.
