Teeth may well bear the brunt of daily doses of black coffee and red wine, but there is no longer any excuse for putting up with the stains, according to one satisfied patient.
Writing in the Daily Telegraph, Suzi Dixon reports on her trip to Q Clinic
, a private dentist on London's Harley Street that offers rapid tooth whitening
According to Ms Dixon, a colour chart was used to determine her desired tooth shade, enabling her to select a "healthy, natural tone".
After 15 minutes of treatment on each row of teeth, the enamel discolouration had disappeared, leaving behind a shade that was "natural and impressive, but not so noticeable that anyone at work could guess what I'd had done".
"I experienced occasional twinges for about 48 hours but the pain was certainly minimal," she added.
A recent report by Mintel found that sales of floss, dental gum and tooth whitening or bleaching kits grew in value from £17 million in 2001 to £37 million in 2005.
