Botox: Expert highlights convenience of non-surgical treatments

The ease and low cost of non-surgical cosmetic treatments are contributing to their rising popularity, according to the UK's largest cosmetic surgery group.

Shami Choudry, PR manager for Transform, revealed that non-surgical treatments such as botox are in fact the fastest growing part of the group's business at the moment.

"Botox is the most popular and boob jobs are second overall," she revealed.

"Non-surgical treatments are great. You can come in your lunch hour, 20 minutes, in and out and no one will know," the expert explained.

This convenience factor gives non-surgical cosmetic treatments a great advantage over cosmetic surgery, which usually involves time off work and a short recovery period.

According to Ms Choudry, the effects of botox and cosmetic fillers are not permanent and usually last for between three and four months.

"A lot of younger girls are having botox because they're seeing it as a preventative, but we would recommend it to someone around the age of 33 or 34," she added.

Figures from the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (Baaps) show that anti-ageing procedures are steadily rising in popularity.

And it is not only females who are taking steps to improve their appearance and hold back the effects of time, as Ms Choudry confirmed that "a lot of men are coming in for botox, peels and general fillers".
