Breast cancer awareness highlighted

Study reveals widespread breast cancer confusion

Breast Cancer Awareness month is focusing on the acute need for women to be breast-aware via a host of events.

A women's action sports event and fashion show in Denver will be graced by the presence of two of skateboarding's big names, Cara-Beth Burnside and Mimi Knoop, reported medical News Today.

In addition, there will be live music, athlete appearances and a silent auction in aid of breast cancer awareness.

Cell phone companies will be offering pink phones and one company has ledged to donate part of the price to breast cancer research.

A bridal wear magazine has enlisted some of fashion's biggest names to design a pink wedding gown, which will be sold across stores with 10 per cent going to a breast cancer charity.

Breasts go through monthly changes according to a woman's cycle and regular self-checks should educate a woman to how her breast should feel at various times.

Any changes in the breast should be followed up immediately with a visit to the doctor as early diagnosis is very important in successful treatment.
