Liverpool Victoria has extended its teleunderwriting service to all its income protection plans.
Teleunderwriting is not a way for insurance underwriters to work while watching the World Cup, but a way of improving communications.
Rather than deal with any queries raised in a proposal form, by long and tedious correspondence, an experienced underwriter talks directly to the customer. Liverpool Victoria will now contact applicants direct if it requires further information about a disclosed medical condition, before accepting a risk.
Liverpool Victoria hopes the service will mean faster acceptance for more customers, while it expects to see a large reduction in the number of GP reports it decides to request.
