Surgical tourism: Typical costs

Prices for hospital treatment overseas are highly competitive. For example, the cost of a hip replacement operation in a private hospital in the UK might be around £8,000. By opting to go for treatment in another European country, you could save £4,000 to on the operation. However, you will also need to allow for travel and accommodation costs.

The report compiles data from 108 clinics, hospitals and healthcare providers in 30 countries, roughly a third of the estimated number of overseas hospitals and clinics promoting their services to the UK market.
