Prices for hospital treatment overseas are highly competitive. For example, the cost of a hip replacement operation in a private hospital in the UK might be around £8,000. By opting to go for treatment in another European country, you could save £4,000 to on the operation. However, you will also need to allow for travel and accommodation costs.
We recently completed a survey of medical tourism prices in countries across the world - the
Treatment Abroad PriceWatch. The report compiles data from 108 clinics, hospitals and healthcare providers in 30 countries, roughly a third of the estimated number of overseas hospitals and clinics promoting their services to the UK market.
