Video Transcript: What treatments are available?

It depends on what kind of treatment they are going for.  If you take something like dentistry, which is the most popular reason for people from the UK for travelling abroad then that is really a result of the decline in Public Service, National Health Service, Dentistry and the prices that people are having to pay for a private dentist.

For cosmetic surgery cost is obviously a main driver but there are certainly people who want to have surgery and combine it with a holiday in a country such as South Africa or Spain and perhaps not tell people when they come back what they have had done.

Elective surgery such as hip replacement, knee replacements, people are often faced with waiting lists in their home country, the price of going private for treatment may be excessive and certainly for the UK there is a number of people who are very concerned about the risks of infection in UK hospitals.
