Video Transcript: What advice for medical tourists is there?
It's no different to if you were going for hospital treatment in your own country. Any operation, any treatment carries a risk so the important thing is that you are an informed patient. It is important to find out about the Doctors that are actually going to do the operation to check out their registration details to find out about the hospital and what quality of accreditation it has.
Is there a written agreement? You should always insist on a formal written agreement so that you understand exactly what is and what isn't included in your treatment.
What happens if something goes wrong? Are you liable for the additional cost of that treatment?
For many people price is the one most important thing but the cheapest provider of health care is not necessarily the best and there is an awful lot of things that you need to plan for and think about.
