Laparoscopy is a keyhole surgery that allows the surgeon to examine and treat the pelvis region through conveniently small cuts in the abdominal wall. A laparoscope is a small flexible tube with a camera and light at one end. It is inserted in through the incisions and guided round the pelvic area to study the organs and tissues. The camera sends magnified images to a video screen so the surgeon can examine them.
