How can I reduce the risk of catching Candidiasis?

In this section

There are no specific measures to reduce the risk of Candidiasis in otherwise healthy women.  Recurrent Vulvovaginal Candidiasis is usually defined as four or more episodes of symptomatic in 1 year, affects a small percentage of women (<5%). The cause is poorly understood, and the majority of women have no apparent predisposing or underlying conditions. Vaginal cultures should be obtained from patients to confirm the clinical diagnosis and to identify unusual species, including nonalbicans species, particularly Candida glabrata. C. glabrata and other nonalbicans Candidia species are observed in 10%–20% of patients with recurrent Vulvovaginal Candidiasis . Conventional antifungal drugs are not as effective against these species as against C. albicans.
