Many bacterial infections in both men and women can be screened using a laboratory technique called Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) on a single urine sample.  

You can carry out sexual health screening for Chlamydia, Gonorrhoea, Mycoplasma, Ureaplasma , Trichomonas Vaginalis, Gardnerella Vaginalis and  Herpes Simplex Virus I and II by ordering a postal pack from the internet which will  enable you to carry out STI home testing and allow you to send a urine sample for testing. 

Results come back by email or confidential text message. If the results are negative no further action is required and if they are positive then either private referral can be arranged or the patient can make their own arrangements via their GP or local NHS GUM Clinic.
