The Eating Disorders Unit offers a highly specialised rapid assessment and treatment service (including rehabilitation) for all patients aged 16 and over with a diagnosis of eating disorders. The Unit views recovery as an ongoing process and the programmes are designed with this in mind.

The Eating Disorders Unit offers individualised treatment on an inpatient, outpatient and day patient basis. The 15 bed unit will accept:

• Emergency admissions due to low weight

• Patients requiring naso-gastric or PEG feeding

• Informal admissions and patients detained under the mental health act
