The program was founded by Eric Clapton on the beautiful island of Antigua in the West Indies. Quality, affordable treatment is now within reach

Notwithstanding the iconic status of the Centre's celebrated founder, Crossroads is affordable and caters for individuals with drug or alcohol addictions from all walks of life (and their families), whose lives are controlled by alcohol, drugs or other compulsive behaviours. More information on prices can be found on Crossroads' website. Continuing Care Services in the UK

Residential treatment is often the first step towards addressing addiction, however, continuing care services are essential to sustained recovery.  Through their preferred provider network, Crossroads offers a complete range of aftercare services for those returning to the UK.  In addition, Crossroads provides a two year follow-up with each client to support and assist ongoing recovery.

Eric Clapton

Eric Clapton's vision

As a recovering alcoholic and addict, Eric Clapton had himself experienced the Caribbean island of Antigua as a safe, serene refuge and thought this an idyllic location for addiction treatment.

"My vision was to create a Centre of the highest caliber to treat people of the Caribbean and throughout the world. The Centre would be staffed with experienced and internationally recognised professionals. The cost of treatment would be held to the lowest possible level, ensuring affordability and accessibility. And most importantly, this non-profit Centre would provide treatment scholarships for people of the Caribbean region and around the world."

This vision became a reality and Crossroads opened its doors to the world in 1998. Since then it has quickly developed into an internationally recognised Treatment Centre of Excellence, providing services to individuals and their families suffering from the devastating effects of addiction.

Residential addiction treatment programs

Crossroads Centre offers variable lengths of stay ranging from four to six weeks. Programs incorporate a body, mind and spirit approach to recovery, with a Twelve Step model as a foundation for each program, embracing both traditional and holistic treatment elements to create a 'whole person' approach. This is facilitated through the introduction of a number of traditional and complementary therapies, designed to bring the client closer to achieving a balance of body, mind and spirit.

Continuing care is a vital aspect to ongoing recovery. All clients are provided with appropriate referrals and a comprehensive continuing care plan, based on their individual needs as recommended by the clinical team.

The 'Whole Person' approach to recovery

The Six-week extended program is expressly designed for clients who may have prolonged detoxification needs, require more time adjusting to the treatment environment, and/or who have multiple treatment episodes and require concentrated attention on specific treatment areas such as relapse prevention.

An international team of highly skilled and dedicated professionals

The centre's elite team comprises medical experts and counsellors from around the world, and this enables them to treat international clients with a cultural sensitivity and awareness that is unique to Crossroads. The treatment team includes: physicians, registered nurses, Masters level clinicians, certified addictions counsellors, a psychologist, spiritual counsellor, nutritionist, massage therapists and fitness instructors.  All work collaboratively to provide a highly individualised multidisciplinary approach to treatment and continuing care planning.

Follow-up services

Crossroads' commitment to its clients continues long after one has completed the program. They maintain contact with clients who have participated in the program for up to two years post discharge. In addition, Alumni Chapters have been established throughout the United Kingdom, United States, Canada and the Caribbean. Alumni events and reunions take place throughout the year.
