Weight loss treatments in Belgium

• Laparoscopic Adjustable Gastric Band: The adjustable gastric band (sometimes known as lap banding) is a restrictive procedure. A silicone band is placed around the upper part of the stomach, creating a small pouch above the band, about the size of a golf ball and a large pouch below the band. 
• Laparoscopic Gastric Bypass: There are several variations of a gastric bypass, the most common procedure in the UK is the Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass, also known as RYGB. It is a combination of restrictive and malabsorptive procedures, and therefore has a two way weight reducing effect.
• Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy: The sleeve gastrectomy is a restrictive procedure. Two thirds of the stomach are resected and removed, leaving a smaller stomach in the shape of a sleeve.
• Gastric Balloon: The gastric balloon  is a tool that aides weight loss. It stays in the stomach for 6 months and you follow a low calorie diet, attend regular behaviour modification module meetings to work alongside the balloon for 12 months.  
• Revision Surgery: There are several options available to patients who have already had weight loss surgery but are looking for another solution as their original surgery has not been a success, for whatever reason.

Aftercare programme

Aftercare is crucial to any patient's success.

The WLS Group provide aftercare for non WLS Group patients also. You can pay for your gastric band adjustments separately as and when you need them (Gastric band adjustment service) . Or you can purchase a 12 month package (aftercare plus)  – the choice is yours.  Aftercare programme for non-wls patients.

Their aftercare clinics are currently in ondon, Newcastle, Liverpool, Glasgow, Dublin, Leeds and Cardiff (coming soon:- Belfast and Cheshire) and adjustments cost £85.

For patients that have surgery with the WLS Group , as part of your comprehensive 2 year aftercare programme with WLS group you will also have access to:
