World leading pioneers in natural and mild IVF

Professor Geeta Nargund - Medical Director

Professor Nargund is Senior Consultant Gynaecologist and Lead Consultant for Reproductive Medicine at St George's Hospital, London.  Committed to finding safer and more accessible methods of assisted reproduction for women worldwide, she is internationally recognised as a pioneer in the field.

Professor Stuart Campbell - Consultant and Director of Ultrasound

Professor Campbell was at the forefront of ultrasound diagnosis, introducing techniques now regarded as commonplace, such as the pregnancy scan and fetal abnormality scan.  An expert in the latest 3D and 4D scanning techniques, he is able to bring his vast experience to the development of less drug-orientated IVF treatments.

Professor Ri-Cheng Chian - Scientific Director

Create Heath are delighted to be able to work with Professor Ri-Cheng Chian, the pioneer of in vitro maturation (IVM), a technique that allows eggs to be harvested when they are immature and then brought to maturity in the laboratory.  To date, this ground breaking new technology has resulted in 2500 healthy babies being born across the world.

What is natural and mild IVF?

Conventional stimulated IVF treatments can mean 4-5 weeks of powerful fertility drugs that suppress a woman's natural cycle, often causing unpleasant menopause-like symptoms and occasionally resulting in health threatening ovary hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS).

Natural cycle IVF is an IVF treatment carried out without the use of fertility drugs.  Advances in ultrasound technology and a greater knowledge of the physiology of ovulation have made it easier to collect a naturally produced egg, which can then be fertilised in a laboratory and the embryo introduced into the womb.  A modified version of the natural technique has also been developed involving a very short course of fertility drugs (3-4 days) and progesterone to help the embryo implant.  Natural cycle IVF may also be combined with in vitro maturation (IVM) to produce more than one embryo, increasing the chance of a pregnancy.

Mild stimulation IVF involves 5-9 days of fertility drug treatment, working within a woman's natural cycle, and generally producing between two and seven eggs.  No woman treated at Create Health with these gentler techniques has ever developed moderate or severe OHSS.

What are the advantages of natural and mild IVF?

  • Good success rates
  • Safer for mother and child
  • Less expensive than stimulated IVF
  • Can be repeated in consecutive menstrual cycles
  • Effective for women with very low ovarian reserves or who have had a poor response to stimulated IVF

Tailor-made natural fertility treatment at Create Health

Any treatment at Create Health is always totally patient focused and tailored to the individual.  A comprehensive range of the most up-to-date tests to gauge fertility potential are made initially, including Doppler and 3D ultrasound and an assessment of ovarian reserve.  The expert team can then advise on what course treatment would be the most suitable.

One stop fertility testing in London

Using advanced ultrasound and other techniques, Create Health is able to provide a reliable assessment of a woman's or man's fertility within one hour, including a full report, a service unique in the UK.

An ovarian reserve test is always performed as part of the One Stop service, however the results for this take a little longer.
