Hand and wrist surgery is undertaken by specialist orthopaedic and plastic surgeons. Surgery often involves the repair of damage to the hand or wrist which which may have occurred to bone, muscle, tendon, nerve, other soft tissue (such as ligaments), skin and nails.
Common operations include surgery for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, surgery for Dupuytren's disease and the surgical removal of ganglions and cysts. The surgical team will usually be supported by specialist Hand Therapists such as Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists.
