Hair transplant surgery and hair restoration treatment in Turkey

Hair transplantation is a surgical technique that involves moving individual hair follicles from one part of the body (the donor site) to bald or balding parts (the recipient site).

Modern hair transplantation can achieve this through a procedure called Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT). Donor hair can be harvested in two very different ways:

  • Strip Harvesting: A strip of scalp is removed under local anesthesia, the wound is then sutured back together and this piece of scalp tissue is then cut in to small pieces of tissue called grafts which are then transplanted back in to the thinning area of the patient's head. This method will leave a linear scar in the donor area, which should be covered by patient’s hair (if long). The recovery period is around 2 weeks and will require the stitches to be removed by medical personnel.

  • Follicular Unit Extraction or FUE Harvesting: Individual follicles of hair are removed under local anesthesia; this micro removal uses tiny punches of between 0.6mm and 1.25mm in diameter. Each follicle is then reinserted back into the scalp in the thinning area using a micro blade. Since individual follicles are removed, only small punctuate scars remain and any post-surgical pain is minimized. As no suture removal is required, recovery from FUE is within 7 days.

The Blue Mosque - Istanbul

Longevita clinics provide medical treatment in Istanbul, Izmir and Antalya – Turkey’s largest coastal cosmopolitan cities

Istanbul

The only city in the world built on two continents stretching along the two shores of the Bosporus that links the Marmara Sea with the Black Sea. At every turn in the city, you face Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman palaces, mosques, churches, monasteries, monuments, walls and ruins. Bazaars and ultra-modern shopping centres offer both traditional and modern shopping to visitors. Excellent restaurants, lively bars, finest luxurious hotels located on the Bosphorus with stunning views over the straits, or in the modern business districts, contribute to Istanbul's cosmopolitan feel.

Izmir

The city home to the Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The legendary female warriors, the Amazons, founded Izmir, or Smyrna as it was called in Ancient Times, according to one story. It boasts both natural spas with healing thermal waters, and the deep blue sea with beaches running for 101 km on the Aegean coastal strip. As a lively and cosmopolitan city, it has a significant place in Turkey's cultural life with the International Arts Festival and International Fair.

Antalya

Antalya

The Turkish Riviera is the most stunning part of Turkey's Mediterranean coast. The city has a backdrop of fascinating mountain scenery, and is set high on cliffs, with many of its grandest hotels overlooking the sea on the outskirts of the town. A historic heart in the centre with old city walls, the city has seen something of a renaissance in recent years, with many of the wooden Ottoman mansions being restored and turned into boutique hotels. The beach area is known for its golden sand. Heading up into the mountains, one can make the most of the beautiful scenery by visiting the spectacular waterfalls. Just 50 km away from the city centre, one can even ski, where it is snowy on the slopes until early April. The Golden Orange film festival is held annually in the autumn.
