The Oxford Clinic provides patients with fast and reliable access to surgical and non-surgical orthopaedic diagnosis and treatment. The Oxford Clinic aims to provide a world-class service to all patients with bone, joint and muscle conditions in a clean and friendly environment of clinical excellence

The Oxford Clinic was founded by some of the world’s leading orthopaedic specialists whose core principles include the development and promotion of clinical excellence focused on orthopaedic treatment. Many of the specialists based at The Oxford Clinic are renowned for their contributions to medicine through clinical research and development of surgical and non-surgical technology.

Elbow and shoulder treatment and surgery

The Consultant Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons at the Oxford Clinic have specialist training in all routine and complex shoulder and elbow procedures treating local, national and international patients. Many conditions can now be treated by arthroscopic (keyhole) surgery and  patients with upper limb problems are now benefiting from this type of minimal access surgery.

The most common operations performed by their specialists include:

  • Arthroscopic acromio-clavicular joint excision – to treat a painful arthritic acromio-clavicular joint.
  • Arthroscopic release of frozen shoulder – to treat and free up resistant symptoms of a frozen shoulder.
  • Rotator cuff repair – to repair torn shoulder rotator cuff tendons.
  • Shoulder stabilisation – to prevent further dislocations of unstable shoulders (a common sports injury)
  • Shoulder replacement – to treat painful osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis or post traumatic osteoarthritis.
  • Acromio-clavicular joint reconstruction – for dislocated symptomatic acromio-clavicular joints.
