Cancer Partners UK has specialist cancer treatment centres around the UK that are designed and managed by experienced cancer experts to provide access to the very latest intensely modulated and image guided radiotherapy for a wide range of cancers, such as breast cancer, prostate cancer, liver cancer and lung cancer.
Why choose treatment at Cancer Partners UK?
Image Guided Radiotherapy (IGRT) and Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy
radiotherapy treatments have been shown to treat cancer with greater accuracy
and fewer side effects than conventional or ‘conformal’ radiotherapy.
Cancer Partners UK uses the latest advancements in radiotherapy technology
to treat many different types of cancer. For a full list please click here
They use external beam radiotherapy to destroy cancer tumours or stop them from growing any further. By using the latest advancements in radiotherapy technology they can target tumours with a very high degree of accuracy.
IMRT (intensity modulated radiotherapy) means the radiotherapy dose can be shaped to match the tumour precisely, while IGRT (image guided radiotherapy) takes scans before and during treatment to ensure the radiotherapy is delivered exactly on target. This means that treatment is more effective as all of the tumour can be targeted with the correct radiotherapy dose. It also reduces the expected side effects of radiotherapy by avoiding damage to healthy tissue and organs.
They understand that undergoing treatment for cancer can be a difficult time for you and those close to you. To help make the experience as relaxed and comfortable as possible they have created warm, friendly and calm environments in all of their treatment centres.
Every member of your care team has been recruited for their positive and supportive attitude as well as their exemplary professional experience and training. Cancer Partners ensure that you receive the utmost care and attention throughout your treatment.
With an uncompromising approach to cleanliness and access to a full range of facilities and services at each centre, they aim to make your treatment journey as simple and stress free as possible.
Where can I get treatment?
From July 2012
Cancer Partners UK will have five private treatment centres at South Downs, Havant; Southampton; Elstree; Little Aston, Sutton Coldfield and Nottingham.
How do I get treatment?
To be treated at Cancer Partners UK you will need to be referred by a consultant oncologist. If your oncologist does not work for Cancer Partners, they can refer you to a consultant oncologist at any one of their centres.
Alternatively, you can make an enquiry, or call your nearest Cancer Partners UK centre and the centre manager will be happy to talk you through the process.
Cancer Partners UK is recognised by
most key private medical insurance providers. Whether it's your own or a company
policy, let your consultant oncologist know that you would
like radiotherapy treatment at one of their centres. Their administrative staff can then get the
cost of treatment authorised by the insurance company before treatment starts.
If you do not have private medical
insurance for your radiotherapy treatment, Cancer Partners UK can provide you
with a detailed quote and you can pay by cash, cheque, debit card or credit
card. If you are paying for your treatment, please contact the
centre manager at one of their centres and they will guide you through the
process and provide an estimate of costs.
